You want to enjoy Mediterranean climate, empty beaches, crystal clear water and a countryside full of history? Well than it is time you visit the eastern coast of the Adriatic Sea. Ride form one UNESCO World Heritage to the next.
This area is so full of history that it is hard to start mentioning the most famous place. If we go back in history the area used to be a country called Yugoslavia. Due to the big differences in religion and the way of living the country split up into smaller parts. Each of these new countries offers everything a motorcyclist is looking for. Small roads with breathtaking views, food that is unique in every way and sometimes beaches that are completely empty.
Starting in Dubrovnik we can inhale fresh air from the Mediterranean Sea and visit its old town that is a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1979. Nice curves lead us into Montenegro and further on to Bosnia-Herzegovina where we have a picture stop at the Stari Most bridge. Our next stop is Split, the history of this town would make at least 5 Hollywood movies so take your time to explore the place.
After visiting historic towns perfect curves in the Croatian mountains lead us to the Plitvice Lakes National Park. Don’t forget to have a spare SD card ready. Spending a night in Opatija a great town just at the seaside we will be able to taste fresh sea food before we go on our last day-trip to Ljubljana close to the Austrian border.
