We leave the coast and head inland towards the Sierra de las Nieves - a wild, green mountain landscape with deep gorges and cork oak forests. The road to Ronda is one of the most spectacular in Spain. Once at the top, the famous "Puente Nuevo" bridge, which crosses a 100-metre deep gorge, awaits you - a perfect photo stop. On the way back, we drive back towards Málaga via El Burgo and Álora and enjoy the impressive colors of the sunset before reviewing our experiences over a cosy dinner in the evening.
We set off, perhaps after a breakfast of "tostada con tomate" and a strong "café solo", and leave the city traffic behind us. We take the "Carretera de los Montes de Málaga", a dream for motorcyclists. After just a few kilometers, the landscape changes: from the coastal city into a green, mountainous world full of pine trees, holm oaks and Aleppo pines. Tight bends, gentle climbs and panoramic views over Málaga and the Mediterranean await us. A popular stop is the Mirador del Cochino, a viewpoint overlooking the nature park. Here we can linger for a while, take a photo and enjoy the silence of the mountains - interrupted only by the chirping of crickets and the clicking of cooling engines before we make our way back to Málaga.
