The Alps a place with a lot of history. Different countries and languages very close to each other. Streets that are built into the nature and therefore have predictable radiuses and a well maintained surface.
We are always happy to ride in a place that seems to be made for riding motorcycles. Starting close to Munich you have the chance to see the BMW Museum. Arrive one day early and get an idea why our bikes have been made for riding in the Alps. Going south it’s time to stop at the best known sight of Bavaria. No, it’s not the “Hofbräuhaus”, we’re going to see castle Linderhof. The castle that made the Bavarian King Ludwig famous.
Right at the Italian border we have a relaxing night in fresh clear mountain air, before we head for another highlight: Passo Stelvio. The afternoon ride leads us into Switzerland where the mountains are even higher and ride starts to become an easy cursing left - right - left - right.
The “iceman” is waiting in his new hometown - Bolzano. Already in Italy we’ll recognise the mild climate with warm temperatures and of course an ice-cream.
For the natives the name “Dolomiti” brings up goose skin. These mountains starting outside of Bolzano are perfect for every kind of motorbike. They have attracted a lot film teams from all over the world because of the mysteriously red shining mountains. On the way back to Munich the highest mountain of Austria is awaiting us before we enter Bavaria again. But please be careful! If you ride the Alps there will be a very strong wish to come again.
